A mission burrito differed from a regular burrito in that it would contain extra ingredients, making it a far more filling burrito. Chipotle’s burrito has become so popular, as of 2009 it is consistently in America’s top growing franchises. Part of the appeal in the restaurant is that customers are allowed to watch their food get prepared right before their eyes, and choose their ingredients as they go. This style of giving customers more control over what they are ordering is a big part of why Chipotle has picked up the kind of brand loyalty as it has.

As a very successful Denver franchise, other companies have followed suit by basing their operations in the Denver-area. Chipotle partnered up with Boulder full-service restaurant Pizzeria Locale to start a pizza fast food chain in Denver with the same name in May 2013. The aim is to expand the restaurant across Colorado in the same vain as Chipotle.
